Job summary

Core & Main in St. Louis is seeking an IT Help Desk Level 1 specialist to ensure smooth operation of computing hardware and software across locations. You will respond to incidents via calls, email, or tickets, diagnose issues, and apply fixes for PCs, printers, and ERP apps.

The role requires hands-on setup of new equipment, assist new associates with logins, and adherence to service levels. Some after-hours on-call travel for mergers and new sites is expected.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Specialized skills training/certification may be required.
• Generally, 1-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Responds to inbound phone calls, email, or web tickets; provides proactive service in the diagnosis and resolution of incidents, problems, and requests for hardware, software, peripherals, and ERP applications.
• Physically sets up, maintains and monitors hardware at new Core & Main locations.
• Assists new associates logging into machines and provides support functions.
• Works to meet agreed Service Level Agreements.
• Ensures the Help Desk maintains a high level of customer service.
• Makes recommendations to streamline support processes and maintains knowledge base.
• Assists in escalation to level 2 support when appropriate.
• Sets up new PCs and troubleshoots printers, passwords, emails, and network connectivity issues.
• Provides on-call support after hours based on rotation schedules.
