The Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, administering, monitoring, and supporting integrations across the enterprise application portfolio. The role requires strong hands‑on experience with Azure Logic Apps together with broader enterprise middleware and iPaaS experience in Boomi, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Workato, Celigo, or a comparable technology; so that integration solutions are selected and implemented based on business, technical, security, reliability, and support requirements rather than familiarity with a single platform. The role maintains reliable data movement among Microsoft Dynamics 365, the custom Field Service application, OneStream, Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Fleetio, telematics, KPA/Novara, Origami Risk, UKG, ADP, Power BI, and other approved enterprise applications. Power Automate is used where appropriate for workflow and automation scenarios that benefit from the Microsoft connector ecosystem. This position owns the day‑to‑day engineering and operational support of interfaces and ensures production integrations are secure, monitored, documented, recoverable, and supportable.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, administer, and support enterprise integrations using Azure Logic Apps and other enterprise middleware and iPaaS technologies (like Boomi, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Workato, Celigo, etc.).
- Develop integration workflows using appropriate triggers, actions, managed or built‑in connectors, custom connectors, HTTP/REST or SOAP APIs, webhooks, messaging, file, event, and data‑integration patterns based on defined business and technical requirements.
- Apply sound platform and integration‑pattern judgment when determining how an interface should be implemented, considering transaction volume, latency, resiliency, security, connector availability, operational ownership, maintainability, monitoring, and supportability.
- Use Power Automate where appropriate for lower‑complexity workflow, approvals, notifications, Microsoft 365 automation, and user‑centric processes that benefit from the Power Platform connector ecosystem.
- Work with the ERP Engineer, Business Analysts, Power BI Engineer, Application Support, vendors, and business stakeholders to define source and target systems, systems of record, data ownership, mappings, transformation rules, timing, security, and reconciliation requirements.
- Build and support integrations between Microsoft Dynamics 365, the custom Field Service application, Salesforce, OneStream, and other enterprise applications using supported APIs, connectors, middleware, iPaaS, messaging, event, or data‑integration methods.
- Implement resilient integration patterns including error handling, retries, reprocessing, duplicate prevention and idempotency, exception routing, reconciliation, logging, correlation, monitoring, alerting, and recovery procedures.
- Secure system‑to‑system integrations using appropriate Microsoft Entra ID identities, managed identities, service principals, OAuth, certificates, secrets management, least‑privilege access, and comparable security controls required by other enterprise platforms.
- Administer and troubleshoot Azure Logic Apps and other middleware/iPaaS solutions (like Boomi, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Workato, Celigo, etc.) using workflow or process run history, logs, alerts, connection status, message‑processing information, platform monitoring, and other operational diagnostics.
- Maintain source control and controlled development, test, and production deployment practices for integration components, including Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD tooling, environment configuration, versioning, rollback, release documentation, reusable integration patterns, connector standards, support procedures, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in enterprise integration, middleware, iPaaS, API engineering, application development, or data integration. Strong hands‑on production experience with Azure Logic Apps is required. Candidates must also have practical experience building and supporting integrations using at least one additional enterprise middleware or iPaaS platform such as Boomi, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Workato, Celigo, or a comparable technology. Experience integrating multiple enterprise applications and supporting production interfaces is required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 integrations is strongly preferred.
Required Skills
- Enterprise middleware and iPaaS engineering
- Power Automate and connector‑based workflow
- API, messaging, event, and data integration
- Error handling, retries, idempotency, and reconciliation
- Security and system‑to‑system authentication
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support
- CI/CD, release discipline, and technical documentation
Preferred Skills
- Working experience with Power Automate is strongly preferred, particularly for cloud flows, Microsoft and third‑party connectors, custom connectors, approvals, notifications, and business‑process automation.
- Broader Azure integration experience with services such as Service Bus, API Management, Functions, Event Grid, Key Vault, Storage, or related services is highly valuable.
- Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, OAuth 2.0, JSON/XML, SQL/data transformation, messaging and event‑driven patterns, webhooks, source control, CI/CD, monitoring, reconciliation, and production support is expected.
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365, Dataverse/Power Platform, Salesforce APIs, OneStream, and integrations to an external Field Service platform is beneficial.
- Experience using an enterprise ticketing or ITSM system such as ServiceNow for integration incidents, defects, changes, and production support is preferred.
