Job summary

FNBO is seeking an Integration Architect to lead enterprise integration and API strategy, accelerating digital transformation and modernization across banking services.

You will design, implement, and govern APIs, event-driven patterns, and integration platforms, collaborating with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions onsite in Omaha.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development and/or architecture.
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Deep understanding of integration patterns, API management, and distributed systems design.
  • Proven experience implementing and governing event-driven architecture and asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for integration platforms.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred) and cloud-native deployment models.
  • Strong understanding of API security, including OAuth, JWT, and related best practices.
  • Experience with API testing, validation, and OpenAPI specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop enterprise integration and API strategy and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and evolve the Integration / API Center of Excellence to drive standardization, governance, and best practices across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise integration patterns, reference architectures, and reusable frameworks to support modernization efforts.
  • Evolve API and integration standards, governance frameworks, and best practices in alignment with the Enterprise Architecture team.
  • Champion design-first / contract-first API development methodologies and mentor teams on modern integration patterns.
  • Implement monitoring, observability, analytics, and lifecycle management processes across APIs and integration platforms.
  • Develop and govern asynchronous/event-driven integration patterns, including event schema standards and streaming architectures.
  • Lead adoption and optimization of API management platforms and developer enablement capabilities (e.g., API portals, discovery, self-service).
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to design and implement scalable integration solutions that align with enterprise architecture strategy.
  • Provide thought leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to architects and engineering teams.

Summary Of The Job

We are seeking an Integration Architect to lead FNBO's enterprise integration and API strategy and drive digital transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing the enterprise integration ecosystem—including APIs, event-driven architectures, and platform-based integrations—to enable seamless connectivity across banking services, enhance customer experiences, and accelerate innovation.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with developer portals and improving API discoverability and developer experience
  • Knowledge of banking systems, payments, or financial services technology
  • Experience integrating identity and access management solutions (OAuth, OIDC, SAML)
  • Familiarity with containerization, service mesh, and cloud-native architecture patterns
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide adoption of integration standards

Compensation

Compensation range (base pay): $107,552.00-$182,838.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
