Job summary

DSA in Washington, DC seeks an Integration Architect to define system architecture, integration approach, and roadmap to deliver secure, scalable capability across technologies. You will collaborate with security, cloud, data, and app teams.

Minimum 8+ years of DoD-focused architecture experience; Appian connected systems; AWS/Azure; AI concepts. Salary range $135,000 - $145,000 USD; security clearances may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Appian Lead Developer certification; AWS certification and CompTIA Security+ preferred.
• 8+ years of systems architecture experience in DoD environments.
• Experience with Appian connected systems, API contracts, canonical data models, authentication/authorization patterns, error handling, retries, idempotency, monitoring, performance, and testing.
• Ability to define technical standards and oversee implementation across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern ACWS integration architecture, standards, patterns, and interface roadmap.
• Design secure APIs, Appian integrations, connected systems, data exchanges, and event-driven interfaces.
• Maintain interface-control documents, API contracts, mappings, schemas, and system-of-record responsibilities.
• Establish integration requirements for security, availability, performance, monitoring, error handling, and recovery.
• Coordinate integration design and testing across application, data, cloud, cybersecurity, and external-system teams.

Integration Architect

Summary:

Serves as the System Architect by defining and communicating the system architecture, solution enablers, non-functional requirements, integration approach, and technical roadmap needed to deliver secure, scalable, and adaptable capability across technologies.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Appian Certified Lead Developer; AWS certified preferred; CompTIA Security+
• 8+ years of systems architecture experience supporting DoD environments, including enterprise architecture, systems integration, application modernization, Appian-based solution delivery, Architecture Decision Record governance, integration patterns, and secure cloud-based enterprise solutions
• Experience with Appian connected systems and integrations; defining interface-control documents, API contracts, canonical data models, authentication and authorization patterns, error handling, retries, idempotency, monitoring, performance, and integration testing.
• Ability to define technical standards and oversee implementation across the development lifecycle
• Experience with system integration, application modernization, and data architecture
• Experience supporting cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Demonstrated experience supporting cloud-based environments, with foundational knowledge of leading platforms and associated services.
• Working knowledge of AI concepts and practical applications

Desired Qualifications

• Advanced cloud, architecture, or Appian certifications are preferred
• Experience with Army or DoD enterprise systems, Appian-first design approaches, data architecture, and long-range modernization planning is strongly desired

The posted salary range is a good-faith estimate. Actual compensation will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and other job-related factors.

DSA - Salary Pay Range

$135,000 - $145,000 USD
