Job summary

VSC Fire and Security is seeking an Integrated Systems Technician Trainee to assist with installing, servicing and inspecting integrated systems under a licensed technician. This includes fire alarm, CCTV, access control, networking and related life-safety systems, with on-the-job guidance and training.

You will gain practical experience across multiple specialties, and participate in a drug-free workplace with opportunities for advancement and professional certification support.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
• Eagerness for professional development and growth.
• Ability to pass various background checks where required.
• Reliable transportation, valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record for use of company vehicle.
• Desirable: Experience in construction or electrical industry.
• Competence reading/interpretation of electrical plans, drawings, schematics, specifications.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret instructions and directives as assigned by supervisor.
• Effectively communicate project or service information to supervisor.
• Complete work in a timely manner as outlined by supervisor.
• Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and job site personnel.
• Occasionally use computers, phones, email, copier and other office tech.
• Operate industry tools to ensure proper installation and service of systems.
• Assist with installation, service, and inspection of integrated systems under guidance.
