Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Jonesboro, Arkansas is seeking candidates for the position of Integrated Systems Technician Trainee. The role involves assisting in installation, service and inspection of integrated life-safety systems under supervision, including fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and related tech.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.

• Ability to pass various background checks where required.
• Reliable transportation, valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record for use of company vehicle.
• Desirable: Experience in construction or electrical industry.
• Competence in reading and interpreting electrical plans, drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret instructions and directives as assigned by supervisor.
• Effectively communicate relevant project or service information to supervisor.
• Complete work in a timely manner as outlined by supervisor.
• Effectively communicate with others — including co-workers, supervisors, and job site.
• Occasional use of computers, phones, email, copier and/or other office technology.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Exercise a modest level of independent judgment in to perform assigned duties.
• Understand and operate industry specific tools to make sure a system is installed and serviced properly.
• Assist with the installation, service, and inspection of integrated systems under the guidance of a supervisor.
