Responsibilities

• Pre-Design Drawings/Development: Confer with engineering, marketing, production, or sales departments, or with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts, designs, and operational plans.
• Design Drawings/Development: Produce electrical, electronic, or mechanical drawings, sketches, blueprints, and/or engineering instructions for assembly, or other related documents or graphics necessary for security design.
• Responding to Changes in Scope: Consult with engineers to ensure that security equipment or systems meet design specifications. Modify, refine, or update designs to conform with customer specifications, production limitations, and field changes.
• Choosing Parts for Security Systems: Research equipment, select components that meet project specs, and submit purchase requests for outside material.
• Customer Service and Coordination: Present designs to customers and stakeholders for review and approval; resolve conflicts and coordination gaps.
• Documentation: Prepare submittals, device schedules, risers, BOMs, and related design records; interpret change orders for pricing and final documentation.
• Training: Instruct individuals on how to operate technical tools and equipment and suggest improvements.
