Job summary

Permian Resources seeks a Planning Engineer to support the Integrated Operations Planning Manager in Midland, TX. You will help generate and optimize the drilling and completion schedule, coordinating across engineering, operations, finance, and regulatory teams to maximize asset value.

The role requires a strong technical background in upstream oil & gas, plus experience with Databricks/SQL/Python and BI tools to build dashboards.

Qualifications

Bachelors of Science in Engineering (ABET or equivalent).
5+ years petroleum engineering experience in upstream oil & gas.
Experience with Databricks or similar data platforms (SQL, Python) for dashboards.
Familiarity with BI/visualization tools (Spotfire, Power BI, etc.).
Proficient with planning software (Actenum DSO, Enersight, Aries, PHDwin).
Experience applying AI/LLM tools to planning or data analysis workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

Work with cross-functional teams to generate and optimize the drill/completion schedule.
Coordinate with operations, budgeting, subsurface, land, midstream, and regulatory teams.
Provide technical support for development plans and capital programs.
Drive improvements in planning workflows using data and technology.
Support scenario analyses to evaluate different capital programs under changing constraints.
