You will develop an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support carrier negotiations and profit goals while

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited community college, college or university.
• Must be able to work 40 hours a week during the summer.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Junior or Senior level preferred

Responsibilities

• Gains exposure to and understanding of the transportation industry
• Participates in daily transportation brokerage activities; verifies carrier authenticity, maintains shipment records, and monitors freight movement
• Builds understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges to support carrier negotiations and margins
• Serves as liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers; learns to communicate service updates to minimize costs and improve delivery
• Learns about the technology and tools used to streamline workflows and carrier load management

Job Summary:

This role learns about establishing a carrier base and attaining optimal margins while delivering best-in-class service execution.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry
• Become involved and participate in daily transportation brokerage activities; verify carrier authenticity, maintain accurate shipment records, and monitor freight movement to uphold service expectations
• Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support carrier negotiations and contribute to revenue and margin goals
• Observe and practice serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers: gain competence in how service failures are proactively communicated to minimize cost and operational inefficiencies while providing best-in-class service
• Learn about the technology and tools J.B. Hunt leverages to streamline workflows, enable carrier access to load management, and promote efficiency

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited community college, college or university.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
