Trident Systems in Fairfax, VA seeks a Product Engineer to lead technical execution and integration across PM&L and MDC portfolios. You will translate leadership guidance into actionable lab work and align activities across electrical, mechanical, and software teams.
The role emphasizes rapid iteration, lightweight design artifacts, and effective coordination with engineering managers to balance resources and priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in systems engineering, product development, or technical integration roles.
- Experience in lab-based development and integration environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Responsibilities
- Translate high-level product guidance into actionable technical direction for lab personnel.
- Coordinate daily lab activities across hardware, software, and integration efforts.
- Identify gaps, conflicts, and risks in ongoing development work.
- Develop initial design concepts including cable definitions and system interconnects.
- Provide guided engineering instructions to enable detailed designs.
- Ensure system-level integration remains cohesive with architecture.
- Support rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles.
- Track progress and elevate blockers to leadership as needed.
- Document integration approaches and technical decisions for engineering teams.
- Participate in design reviews and internal technical interchange meetings.
