Job summary

Oconomowoc is seeking a Molding Machine Operator for a contract-to-hire role in Nashotah, WI. The first shift position requires hands-on experience with molding equipment, loading/unloading parts, and basic quality checks.

You will inspect, pack, label, and assist with setup and process improvements while following ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 guidelines. The role emphasizes safety, standard procedures, and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

  • Criminal background check: 7-year history, no felonies; no lifetime violent felonies.
  • Training per ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 matrices.

Responsibilities

  • Count raw materials, parts produced, and scrap during hours and monthly counts.
  • Perform initial visual inspection of molded parts per instructions.
  • Identify defects and report persistent issues to Supervisor.
  • Mentor Trainees by orientating them to tools and work areas.
  • Operate multiple assets to meet customer demand.
  • Pack and label inspected parts or assemblies per procedures.
  • Identify, pack, and label partial or final assemblies per procedures.
  • Contribute to the Molding 6S program including recycling processes.
  • Remove gates and excess flash affecting appearance or processing.
  • Report unsafe conditions and changes or downtime to Supervisor.
  • Follow SOPs to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Travel is not likely (0%).
  • OT may be assigned as needed.

Molding Machine Operator - Contract-to-Hire

Our client is in need of first shift Molding Machine Operatorsin Nashotah

Job Description:

  • Molding operators: removing parts from machines, packing/unpacking parts, and inspecting for defects or flaws
  • Assembly: loading parts into machines and operating automated processes (button-based operation)

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure counts of raw materials consumed, parts produced, and scrap is accounted for during work hours and monthly cycle counts.
  • Initial visual inspection of molded parts per operator instructions.
  • Identify defects in products and report to Supervisor if defects persist.
  • Mentor Trainees by orientating them to their tools, resources, and work areas.
  • Operate multiple assets in the efforts to meet customer demands.
  • Pack and label inspected parts or assemblies according to procedures.
  • Partial or final assembly of fabricated parts are identified, packed, and labeled according to procedures.
  • Participate and contribute to the Molding 6S program including recycling processes.
  • Removal of gates, excessive flash and other material surpluses that detract from the appearance of molded parts or impair normal processing of the part in subsequent operations.
  • Report unsafe and significant changes including downtime in machinery, equipment, or parts to Supervisor.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure proper quality of work and efficiency.
  • Travel is not likely or 0%.
  • Training needs are based on Techniplas’ ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 training matrix for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned according to the job classification and overtime may be assigned.

Typical Work Environment

Typical work environment includes standing for 8-hours per day, walking, using hand tools, lifting product, 8-hours per day, Monday through Friday schedule per week. Normal environment temperature is 80 deg F with relative humidity of 35%. Employee must have a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles. Idle time between job tasks is not likely to exist. Break/Lunch periods are typical in an 8-hour day. Working up to a 10 hour day or weekend shifts is occasional. Personal protective equipment includes general duty gloves and safety glasses. Upon restricted work ability, light duty is available. This position is considered a Tier I physical demand position which is considered light production floor and clerical work.
