Job summary

Red Line Plastics LLC is seeking a 1st shift Machine Operator in Lee Summit, MO. This role operates rotational molding machines and ensures parts meet quality standards after demolding.

You will monitor processes, report defects, and maintain a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred candidates have a High School diploma or GED and experience in rotational molding, with the ability to access work instructions via computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate rotational molding machines to meet plant metrics for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.

• Perform preventative maintenance as per PM charts.
• Perform molding tasks and inspection of products.
• Meet daily production targets and pace as required.

The primary result expected from Machine Operator position is to operate rotational molding machines as designated under the supervision and direction of operations leadership. The Machine Operator will monitor the quality of the plastics parts after they are demolded to ensure the parts are to quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates rotational molding machine to meet or exceed plant metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale/Inventory
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
• Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
• Performs but not limited to the following tasks: material filling, deburring, molding, all bench operations, and inspection of product
• Safely works at a pace that meets company expectations e.g., parts per hour or minutes per part as quoted to customer.
• Accepts and receives frequent supervision and assistance regarding machine set-up

PREFERRED and REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:High School Diploma or equivalent GED is preferred

Experience and/or Training: Prior rotational molding experience preferred

Licenses/Certificates:No requirements

Technology/Computer Equipment:Ability to utilize computer platforms to access work instructions

PHYSICAL and MENTAL DEMANDS:

• This position is required to constantly stand and walk
• It is necessary for this position to frequently climb stairs throughout the day
• Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above the shoulders may be required
• Frequent use of hands and wrists on both large and small items: e.g., screws, bolts, nuts to service the molds
• Able to focus and work at a continuous pace for extended periods of time
• 15 to 25 lbs. frequent lifting
• 20 to 40 lbs. occasional lifting
• Manual dexterity is required to perform normal day to day functions
• Must always demonstrate patience to successfully work through frustrating challenges and present oneself in a calm professional manner

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The main working environment for this position is the standard manufacturing plant environment.

The plant environment is climate controlled in some areas, however, will include exposure to heat and hot surfaces, cold, noise and odors. Personal protective equipment is required in appropriate areas. There may also be intermittent exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts and tool vibration.
