Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. is seeking an Intake Worker in Marshall, MN to warmly welcome applicants, conduct interviews, and connect them with essential services. You’ll guide clients through resources, document information accurately, and advocate on their behalf with partner agencies.

You will travel within the UCAP area and collaborate with a supportive team to ensure referrals and follow-ups lead to meaningful outcomes for individuals and families in our community.

Responsibilities

• Be the Guide: Conduct interviews (in-person or by phone) to learn about applicants’ needs and connect them with the right resources.
• Share the Knowledge: Explain agency policies and services while providing information about community programs.
• Keep it Organized: Manage participant files, track information, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Advocate for Others: Help clients navigate resources and advocate on their behalf with other agencies.
• Track Success: Log referrals and follow-ups to ensure everyone gets the support they need.

JOB STATUS: Full time (40 hours/week)

As an Intake Worker, you’ll be the friendly face (or voice) welcoming individuals to our programs, guiding them through the process, and connecting them to services that can change their lives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum: A total of five (5) combined years of education + relevant human services experience.
• Preferred: Two (2) years post-secondary education AND three (3) years of human services experience.
