Job summary

Option Care Health, Inc. seeks an Intake Specialist in Arkansas to gather patient information, verify insurance, and coordinate referrals for infusion services with accuracy and care.

You will input and maintain patient records, contact patients and providers for missing data, manage authorizations, and assist with enrollment and billing while delivering compassionate, compliant service. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced

Responsibilities

  • Gather demographics, insurance information, clinical data and testing documentation for patient intake.
  • Input accurate information while building/updating patient records.
  • Review incoming documents and attach to patient profiles.
  • Contact patients/providers to obtain missing information.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits related to medications and services.
  • Manage prior authorizations - submit and track requests.
  • Schedule services aligned with order and care plan.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records and demographics.
  • Communicate status of referrals to patients and referrals sources.
  • Document interactions to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Assist patients with enrollment in programs to reduce out-of-pocket costs.
  • Collect payments for balances, copays, and self-pay patients.
  • Answer phones, triage questions, and route to appropriate team members.
  • Train new team members and promote adherence to workflows.
  • Deliver messages to support continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary:

Option Care Health consistently strives to be intentional and attentive in managing the process of receiving referrals for infusion services and ensuring that patients receive the care they need in a timely manner.

Job Description:
Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
  • Gathering necessary information that is pertinent for a complete and thorough patient intake, such as demographics, insurance information, clinical, lab and medical testing documentation
  • Input accurate information while building and/or updating patient records
  • Review all incoming faxed documents and attach to new or existing patient profile
  • Contact patient or provider to obtain any missing information
  • Verifying insurance to check for coverage and benefits pertaining to medications and services through the patients’ medical benefit
  • Manage authorizations - submit and track requests for prior authorization
  • Schedule services - arrange appointments appropriately that are in line with order and care plan
  • Maintain records - keep patient records up to date and accurate including demographics, insurance information, registration forms, medical record requests
  • Communicate - Keep patients and referral sources informed about the status of their referrals
  • Document in the patient record all requests and conversations designed to help provide seamless coordination of care
  • Assist with enrollment - Help patients enroll in programs that may help with out-of-pocket costs
  • Collect Payment - Appropriately collect payment on patient balances, copays, and/or self-pay patients
  • Answer Phones - Help answer patient questions, triage calls to appropriate team member or department, and involve appropriate persons to best assist questions at hand
  • Train new team members
  • Promote training participation and help team members in following new and existing workflow processes
  • Deliver messages that promote continuous improvement
  • Comply with company “best practices”
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in healthcare related customer service, medical billing and coding, benefits verification, scheduling, health care related call center, or similar responsibilities

Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Pay Range is $16.61-$26.96
