Job summary

Owens (A Friesen Group Company) is seeking an Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients and providers, ensuring timely and accurate intake of medical orders. You will gather and verify information, enter data into EMR/EHR and order-management systems, and coordinate with clinical teams to support compliant device orders.

You should have at least a high school diploma and at least one year of customer service experience, with healthcare intake experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• 1 year experience in healthcare intake, medical office, DME, customer service, or related field, preferred.
• Knowledge of HCPCS codes, preferred.
• Proficient with MS Suite, digital documentation, and multitasking tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for incoming patient and provider requests.
• Gather and verify all intake information, documentation, and medical orders.
• Enter accurate data into EMR/EHR, CRM, and order-management systems.
• Review prescriptions, insurance requirements, and compliance documents.
• Coordinate with clinical teams, customer service, and insurance verification.
• Ensure devices and equipment orders meet regulatory standards (HIPAA, FDA, DME requirements).
• Track order status and follow up as needed.
• Provide compassionate, professional support to patients and partners.
• Other duties as needed.
