Job summary

Owens (A Friesen Group Company) is seeking an Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients, providers, and internal teams. You will gather information, verify orders, and enter data into EMR/EHR and CRM systems to ensure accurate processing of medical device orders.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and DME requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of customer service experience is required.
• 1 year of healthcare intake, medical office, DME, customer service, or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of HCPC codes is preferred.
• Proficient with MS Suite, digital documentation, and multitasking tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for incoming patient and provider requests.
• Gather and verify intake information, documentation, and medical orders.
• Enter accurate data into EMR/EHR, CRM, and order-management systems.
• Review prescriptions, insurance requirements, and compliance documents.
• Coordinate with clinical teams, customer service, and insurance verification.
• Ensure devices and equipment orders meet regulatory standards (HIPAA, FDA, DME).
• Track order status and follow up as needed.
• Provide compassionate, professional support to patients and partners.
• Other duties as needed.

What Makes You a Great Fit
