Job summary

Owens, a Friesen Group company, is seeking an Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients and providers. You will gather intake information, verify medical orders, and enter data into EMR/EHR and order-management systems to support timely patient care.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration with clinical teams, insurance verification, and compliance with HIPAA and DME requirements, in a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering life-changing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• 1 year of healthcare intake or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of HCPCS codes preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for incoming patient and provider requests.
• Gather and verify all intake information, documentation, and medical orders.
• Enter accurate data into EMR/EHR, CRM, and order-management systems.
• Review prescriptions, insurance requirements, and compliance documents.
• Coordinate with clinical teams, customer service, and insurance verification.
• Ensure devices and equipment orders meet regulatory standards (HIPAA, FDA, DME requirements).
• Track order status and follow up as needed.
• Provide compassionate, professional support to patients and partners.
• Other duties as needed

What You’ll Do
