Via Linda Behavioral Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ is hiring an Intake Nurse (RN) for PRN/Per Diem night shifts. The Intake RN will coordinate admissions, triage inquiries, and liaise with referral sources, payer, and hospital staff to determine appropriate level of care.
Responsibilities include completing nursing assessments, entering admissions data, and assisting with prior authorization as needed. Arizona license (or compact) required; psychiatric inpatient experience preferred.
Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is an innovative behavioral health hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix, Arizona metro area. Our 120-bed facility will offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co‑occurring addictions.
Under the direction of the Director of Intake, the Intake RN is responsible for the timely processing of inquiry/referral calls, coordination of all admissions processes, and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. The Intake RN duties include triaging patients, completing assessments to assist physicians in identifying an appropriate level of care for potential patients, effectively staffing clinical work, entering calls and admissions into the computer, and completing nursing admission paperwork with the patient. This position interfaces closely with internal hospital staff, facility physicians, referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. The Intake RN also, at times, is responsible for verifying and obtaining prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
