Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse in El Paso, Texas, responsible for performing intake assessments and crisis intervention. The RN will provide patients with referrals to community resources and assist with call center functions.

Qualified candidates must have a Master’s degree in a human relations field or be a Registered Nurse, with at least two years of experience in psychiatric settings. Licensure in Texas is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in intake assessment activities in an acute psychiatric setting.
• Minimum of 2 years in a psychiatric hospital including customer contact.
• Licensed to practice in Texas as LPC, LMSW, LCSW, or RN.

Job description

Responsibilities

The RN is responsible for performing intake assessments, crisis intervention and providing information about the hospital’s services to patients. The RN also provides patients who do not meet admission criteria with referrals to community resources to ensure continuity of care, and assists with call center functions and other duties to support the needs of the Psych E.D.

Availability

Needed on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree in a human relations field or Registered Nurse.
• Experience: Preferably two or more years of experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting, and a minimum of two years in a psychiatric hospital setting including customer contact and crisis intervention.
• Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State of Texas as a mental health professional (LPC, LPC‑Intern, LMSW, or LCSW) or RN.
• Additional Requirements: Working knowledge of the DSM‑V and the Mental Status Exam; working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field; successful completion of Handle With Care Training within 90 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures; current CPR certification; ability to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
