Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking an Intake Representative to serve as the crucial link between patients and their care teams. You will perform phone screenings, assign prospective patients to therapists, and support intake data and monthly activity reports.

As the first point of contact, you will verify registrations, assist with MyChart, and coordinate appointments, aiming for a seamless patient experience across outpatient services in Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

Intake Representative

Be the Connection Between Patients and Care!

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Intake Representative to serve as a key connection between patients and their healthcare team. In this role, you will provide front line support to the Outpatient Psychiatry and Counseling Center through the performance of phone screenings, assigning prospective patients to therapists and physicians, and patient phone calls. Assists with maintenance of the intake database and monthly reports on intake activity.

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients by phone.

• Provides intake services to callers requesting outpatient mental health, chemical dependency or psychoeducational services.

• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.

• Answer questions, route calls appropriately, and relay messages to clinical staff.

• Verify patient registration and insurance information.

• Assist patients with MyChart and other patient portal support.

• Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.

• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.

• Partner with providers and office teams to create a seamless patient experience.

General Requirements:

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Course work in insurance/billing, medical practice education or seminars are all preferred.

• CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: None

• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in a combination of patient services, medical reception, call/customer service center (medical environment) or other customer service environment.
