Job summary

Race Winning Brands seeks an experienced automotive engineering leader to manage all aspects of Automotive Intake System development from concept to launch. • Hands-on manufacturing environment exposure and strong communication.
• Knowledge of product design, manufacturing processes and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of Automotive Intake System development projects from creation through launch.
• Define project timelines for new product development projects.
• Direct the preparation of product layouts using detailed drawings and schematics.
• Coordinate prototype manufacturing and management of R&D resources.
• Oversee knowledge of Automotive Intake System development and external relationships.
• Provide design modifications in collaboration with research and testing teams.
• Support tooling and fixturing communications with Purchasing.
• Act as Engineering liaison to external customers as required by Marketing and Sales.
• Manage delivery of projects to established timelines and budgets.
• Maintain documentation per company engineering policies.
• Provide status updates to Supervisor and cross-functional teams.

RWB is the preferred source for high-end pistons, engine blocks, cylinder heads, intake manifolds, connecting rods, crankshafts, clutches, transmissions, springs and other engine and driveline- related performance components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Primarily Responsible for managing all aspects of Automotive Intake System development projects from creation through launch, including the direction and performance of others within Engineering as well as other departments.
• Manage all aspects of new Automotive Intake System product development projects, including:
• Defining project timelines for all new product development projects
• Directing the preparation of product or system layouts using detailed drawings and schematics.
• Coordinate the manufacturing of prototype products and management of R&D resources.
• Oversee and maintain strong knowledge of Automotive Intake System development and maintain strong relationships with third-party resources
• Confer with research, testing and other Engineering personnel to prepare design modifications as required.
• Support the communication with Purchasing for necessary tooling and fixturing for manufacturing and purchased parts for new items
• Be the Engineering liaison to external customers where required by Marketing and Sales.
• Manage the delivery of projects to an established timeline and cost budget.
• Manage all related documentation in accordance with company engineering policies.
• Provide updates to Supervisor, cross-functional teams and management pertaining to status of activities, performance to schedule and performance to budget for departmental activities.
• May participate in proposal development activities.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• 5+ years engineering experience in developing Automotive Intake System products from concept to launch.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the areas of technical expertise relevant to designing and developing new Automotive Intake System products.
• Superior project management skills and ability to manage to defined timelines
• Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), including advanced surface modeling for automotive intake system design.
• Proficient in multi-physics analysis (COMSOL preferred).
• Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis; SolidWorks Flow Simulation or equivalent CFD software preferred.
• Comfortable in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes.
• Must be able to work in an environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office.
• Experience in an engineering environment of design to order product preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on vehicle engine systems, including diagnostics, repair, modification, testing, and performance evaluation.

Physical Demands:

• Required to work in, around, and underneath vehicle engine bays.
• Required to travel around the shop and visit all established work stations.
• Ability to write read and interpret documentation.
• Required to frequently use a computer.
• Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes and other materials.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
