Race Winning Brands in Mentor, Ohio is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design and develop valvetrain and engine components using SolidWorks, create 3D models, and prepare detailed drawings.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, at least 3 years of design experience, proficiency in CAD, and strong communication skills to work with Product Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years design engineering experience.
  • CAD Experience: SolidWorks required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software: Windows, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Design – SolidWorks (Current Release).
  • Create and maintain 3D models and drawings library.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of standard design procedures.
  • Execute design of new products under direction of the Engineering Manager.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and related specifications, including GD&T specs with tolerances and finishes.
  • Ability to perform fitment and tolerance analyses.
  • Understand CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Understand FEA and CFD; SolidWorks Premium is a plus.

Design Engineer

Behind every piston, clutch, and exhaust is a team of machinists, engineers, assemblers, and pros who take pride in getting it right. We're looking for an HR Generalist/Recruiter who wants to be part of that team and help it grow.

As a key member of our engineering team, the Product Design Engineer will work cross-functionally with Product Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to bring innovative valvetrain and engine component solutions to market. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD), and a general knowledge of the performance racing and automotive aftermarket.

What you'll do
  • Design – SolidWorks (Current Release)
  • Create and maintain 3D models and drawings library.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of standard design procedures.
  • Execute design of new products under direction of the Engineering Manager.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and related specifications, including GD&T specifications with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
  • Ability to perform fitment and tolerance stack analyses.
  • Understanding of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of FEA and CFD. Usage though Solid works Premium is a plus.
Metrology
  • Understanding of CMM Output and 3D scanning technology.
  • Ability to use handheld measuring gauges – Calipers, Mics, Bore Gauges, etc.
  • Familiarization with usage of CMM and 3D scanning technology is a plus.
Communication
  • Clearly and accurately communicates engineering information to manufacturing, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams to support the core business, ensuring quality products are delivered on time.
Organization
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly to ensure on time delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have the ability and flexibility to provide solid, long term, resolutions for ongoing projects while operating in parallel on current design projects.
  • Work assignments may be complex and non-routine in nature where established techniques or procedures do not yet exist. This position requires a dynamic outlook and the ability to adapt and overcome as new challenges arise.
Requirements
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years design engineering experience.
  • CAD Experience: Solid works required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software: Windows, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of machine processes and cutting tools.
