Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Central Texas town of Temple, Texas. Canyon Creek features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs. Qualifications

The Intake Manager is accountable for general management of the Assessment and Referral activities at the facility under the supervision of the Director. This position involves extensive contact with the community and interfaces closely with the Director, utilization review staff, Canyon Creek Behavioral Health business office staff and clinical staff to ensure continuity of communication. This position is also responsible for inquiry calls, insurance verification and scheduling of evaluations and admissions. The Intake Manager will also serve as the direct supervisor for the communications department and intake coordinators.

Education: Required Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, (LPC, LMSW, LCSW) psychology, mental health, or related field required. Will also consider candidates that possess a degree from an accredited program of professional nursing.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience. Experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting is desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Must have strong management skills with ability to effectively communicate with staff, ensuring proper employee performance management.

Additional Requirements: CPR and Handle with Care training as outlined in New Hire Policy must be completed before providing direct care services.

Additional Skills: Ability to communicate over the telephone and in face-to-face situations. Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information.
