Job summary

El Paso County seeks an Assessment & Intake Officer, Intermediate, to assist courts and stakeholders in determining indigency status and compiling public safety research on defendants. You will provide accurate information to support bond decisions and handle increasingly complex work.

This role requires two years of relevant experience, a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, and the ability to work in a fast-paced county environment with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field and two years of full-time experience in casework or counseling with interviewing skills.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-release interviews, criminal histories, risk assessments, and indigence eligibility assessments.
• Complete interview forms, document findings, and enter information into county databases.
• Evaluate client eligibility for services and make referrals as needed.
• Coordinate with government officials, Mexican Consulate, and other agencies as required.
• Maintain accurate case files and reports, and participate in meetings and trainings.
