Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an Intake Counselor at Indian Creek Correctional Center in Chesapeake, VA. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to support clients with substance use disorders.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with two possible shifts, and a pay rate of $24.04–$25.00 per hour. Benefits include health/dental/vision, life insurance, PTO, tuition assistance, and a 401k

Qualifications

• No formal certification required.
• Minimum of HS Diploma/GED.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in administrative and records management is a plus.
• Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established time frames with input from client and multi-disciplinary team.
• Meet with participant’s primary Counselor to review intake and initial treatment plan information within designated time frame.
• Correct all documentation deficiencies in established time frames as directed by the Clinical Supervisor.
• Assist the Clinical Supervisors with weekly chart audits and discharge planning.
• File room upkeep and maintain clinical records in accordance with regulatory, contractual, and Spectrum standards.
• Address program participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum’s clinical design.
