Job summary

Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a full-time Intake Coordinator for the night shift (7pm–7am) on site in Houston. You will guide patients and families through registration and admission, process referrals, verify insurance, enter demographics, and ensure consent forms are complete.

The role requires confidentiality under HIPAA and state regulations, with weekends on alternating schedule. We offer benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, PTO, EAP, and STD/LTD

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients and families through registration and admission.
• Handle referral processing: answer and document incoming calls and patient walk-ins.
• Communicate with unit staff, manage bed board and escort patients to the unit.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Enter patient demographics, generate patient labels and review and ensure patient consent forms are completed accurately.
• Manage patient property and ensure no contraband is sent to the unit.
• Maintain confidentiality in line with HIPAA and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Guides patient and families through the registration and admission process.
• Referral Processing Answer and document incoming phone calls and patient walk-ins.
• Communication: Communicates with unit staff, manages bed board and escort patients to the unit.
• Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, and eligibility.
• Data Entry: Enter accurate patient demographics, generate patient labels and review and ensures patients consents forms are completed accurately.
• Property: Manages patient property and ensures no contraband is sent to the unit.
• Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality in line with HIPAA and state regulations
