Job summary

SierraVista Behavioral Healthcare in Johnstown, Colorado, is seeking a dedicated Intake Coordinator for the night shift (7p–7a) to admit patients with empathy, accuracy, and urgency—triaging referrals, verifying insurance, collecting demographics, and maintaining real-time logs for overnight operations.

Ideal candidates have healthcare admissions/front-office experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare admissions, intake, or front-office preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, multitasking, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced overnight environment.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Answer referral lines and triage calls from families, emergency departments, and providers with warmth, professionalism, and urgency.
• Coordinate after-hours assessments and admissions, including verifying insurance, gathering demographics, and completing required intake documentation.
• Monitor the bed board throughout the night and coordinate with nursing, EVS, and security to ensure rooms are prepared and available.
• Maintain accurate, real-time logs, dashboards, and admission records to support overnight operations and continuity of care.
• Serve as a key overnight point of contact for urgent admission needs, patient/family questions, and coordination with clinical teams.
• Monitor incoming referrals and follow up promptly to prevent delays in admissions or placement.
• Work calmly and independently during overnight hours while escalating clinical or operational concerns to the appropriate team members.
• Prepare clear, thorough shift handoffs so the day team has complete visibility into overnight admissions, pending referrals, bed availability, and outstanding needs.

What You’ll Do — Night Shift
