Turn first calls into first steps toward recovery. The Intake Coordinator orchestrates smooth admissions with empathy, accuracy, and urgency —bringing steady energy and teamwork to our busiest hours.
How You Will Make a Difference
- Answer referral lines and triage calls from families, emergency departments, and providers with warmth, professionalism, and urgency.
- Verify insurance, gather demographics, obtain required information, and coordinate assessments and admissions.
- Monitor the bed board and collaborate closely with nursing, EVS, security, and other departments to ensure timely room readiness.
- Maintain accurate, real-time logs, dashboards, referral records, and shift handoffs.
- Coordinate with rounding providers and the daytime interdisciplinary team to support timely assessments, admissions, treatment planning, and follow-up needs.
- Communicate with families, referral sources, and clinical teams to facilitate a smooth admissions process and positive experience.
- Support safe and timely discharges by coordinating documentation, transportation, follow-up needs, and communication with the appropriate teams.
- Provide clear and thorough handoffs to evening and night-shift teams, including pending referrals, admissions, discharges, bed availability, and outstanding needs.
- Maintain a professional, welcoming environment while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
What We’re Looking For
- Healthcare admissions, intake, behavioral health, or front-office experience preferred.
- Superb communication, organization, multitasking, and customer-service skills.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, electronic documentation, and basic computer applications.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize competing needs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Preferred: STNA, MHT, BHT, or related healthcare/behavioral health experience.
