Job description

About Our Client

Our client is a leading plaintiff-side firm — among the largest consumer-focused practices in its region — with a footprint that reaches nationally and internationally. Its work spans mass torts, complex claims, personal injury, and rideshare abuse litigation, and it has spent many years advocating for injured people while building the operational backbone to do that at scale.

At the center of that backbone is the intake department: a globally distributed team of 60+ that signs more than 1,000 new matters every month. Intake isn’t an afterthought here — it’s a core strategic function, operated with the discipline of an operations team while retaining a lawyer’s judgment. It’s where every client relationship begins and one of the firm’s principal growth engines.

And it’s expanding fast. Fresh practice lines, new markets, capital partnerships, and record caseloads mark a firm on a steep upward path — and the attorneys who come aboard now will rise with it.

About the Role

Our client is hiring an Intake Attorney to occupy the decision point of that intake operation. For the right lawyer, the upside is rare: you’ll evaluate more prospective matters in a single month than many attorneys see in years, sharpen your case-valuation instincts across three high-stakes practice areas, and work inside one of the plaintiffs’ bar’s most sophisticated high-volume intake organizations.

You’ll serve as the legal authority inside a large, fast-moving intake team — issuing sign/decline calls, defining screening standards, settling close questions, and ensuring the 1,000+ matters retained each month are the right ones, brought in the right way.

This is neither a document-review seat nor a conventional litigation post. It’s a high-judgment, high-throughput role suited to an attorney who thrives on decisions, enjoys working with people, and wants a direct hand in growing a major plaintiffs’ firm.

Responsibilities
  • Case evaluation and decisions — Assess prospective mass tort, personal injury, and rideshare abuse matters escalated by intake specialists, and issue prompt retain/decline calls grounded in liability, damages, coverage, venue, and firm standards.
  • Screening standards and playbooks — Own and steadily refine qualification scripts, intake criteria, and escalation rules for each practice area, working in step with litigation leadership and the requirements of mass tort campaigns.
  • Sensitive and complex intakes — Personally manage high-value, legally intricate, or sensitive matters — rideshare abuse and sexual abuse claimants among them — with the discretion, care, and trauma-informed handling these clients merit.
  • Team guidance and training — Act as the primary legal resource for the 60+ member global intake team, coaching non-attorney staff on ethical limits, statutes of limitation, the unauthorized practice of law, and other legal issues.
  • Deadline and limitations protection — Confirm that limitations dates (SOL) are accurately identified and calendared at intake for every retained matter across all applicable jurisdictions.
  • Compliance and retainer oversight — Supervise correct execution of disclosures, fee agreements, and HIPAA authorizations, and keep intake practices aligned with the ethics rules that apply in each jurisdiction.
  • Analytics on quality and conversion — Team with intake management to track decline reasons, retention rates, lead-source quality, and case outcomes, feeding that data back into screening and marketing decisions.
  • Cross-team coordination — Collaborate closely with marketing, litigation teams, and mass tort leadership to keep intake criteria in sync with docket capacity, active campaigns, and overall firm strategy.
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active, good-standing license to practice in one or more U.S. states.
  • At least two years in mass torts, personal injury, or a comparable plaintiffs’-side practice — in litigation, pre-litigation, or intake.
  • Solid grasp of damages and liability analysis, the fundamentals of insurance coverage, and limitations (SOL) issues.
  • A track record of fast, sound decision-making at volume without letting quality slip.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak to injured and traumatized prospective clients with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ease working with CRMs, intake platforms, and data dashboards in a metrics-driven setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in a high-volume intake or case-acquisition setting (500+ matters per month).
  • Familiarity with multi-jurisdiction screening and mass tort campaign criteria.
  • Experience managing sensitive claims — sexual abuse, assault, or the like — using trauma-informed methods.
  • Arizona admission, or readiness to obtain it.
  • Fluency in Spanish, or experience running multilingual intake operations.
  • A history of training or overseeing remote/distributed teams across time zones
Why Join Now
  • Scale that’s hard to match — with 1,000+ matters retained monthly, you’ll get reps, pattern recognition, and professional growth few settings can offer.
  • A firm in genuine growth mode — widening practice lines, national reach, and capital-backed expansion open real advancement for attorneys who deliver.
  • Meaningful authority — your calls shape the firm’s docket and its future revenue directly.
  • A top-tier team — you’ll work beside a large, skilled, globally distributed intake organization and seasoned litigation leadership.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary range: $115,000–$125,000.
  • Eligibility for performance-based bonuses on top of base.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) with firm contribution.
  • Paid time off plus firm holidays.
  • CLE support and bar dues covered.
