Join a high-growth legal organization as an Intake Attorney, serving as the primary legal decision-maker within a sophisticated, high-volume intake operation. This role is ideal for an attorney who excels at evaluating cases, making timely judgment calls, and guiding intake teams to ensure qualified matters are retained and onboarded efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
Lead Case Evaluation & Retention Decisions
- Review and assess prospective personal injury, abuse-related, and mass tort matters, making informed retain/decline decisions based on liability, damages, statute limitations, jurisdictional considerations, and case viability.
Own Intake Standards & Screening Processes
- Develop, maintain, and refine qualification criteria, intake workflows, escalation protocols, and case screening guidelines to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
Handle Complex & Sensitive Matters
- Personally manage high-value, legally complex, or trauma-sensitive intakes with professionalism, discretion, empathy, and a client-centered approach.
Provide Legal Guidance & Team Training
- Serve as the legal resource for intake personnel by delivering training, answering legal process questions, and ensuring adherence to ethical and compliance standards.
Drive Quality, Compliance & Operational Performance
- Oversee deadline identification, intake documentation, retainer execution, and ongoing analysis of intake outcomes, conversion metrics, and case quality to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in personal injury, mass torts, plaintiff-side practice, intake, pre-litigation, or related legal work.
- Strong understanding of liability assessment, damages evaluation, insurance fundamentals, and statute-of-limitations analysis.
- Proven ability to make accurate, high-volume case-evaluation decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage compassionately with prospective clients.
- Experience using CRMs, intake platforms, and data-driven workflows preferred.
