Job summary

Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston is seeking an Intake and Assessment Specialist to support the Adult Education ESOL Program. The role coordinates student intake, administers standardized assessments, maintains enrollment data, and builds partnerships to enhance access and compliance with MA Adult Education requirements.

The position is part-time (28 hours/week, 33 weeks/yr) with a schedule Tue–Thu 9:00–14:00 and 16:30–20:30, Fri 9:00–14:00, at an hourly rate of $30.00.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience teaching adult ESOL or Adult Basic Education.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain BEST Plus 3.0 and TABE CLAS-E certification.
  • Strong organizational, communication, technology, and data management skills.
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse adult learners.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate student testing throughout the academic year and during program-wide testing weeks.

  • Represent the program at community events, resource fairs, and presentations.

About this position

The Intake & Assessment Specialist supports the Adult Education ESOL Program by coordinating student intake, administering standardized assessments, maintaining assessment and enrollment data, supporting student recruitment, and building community partnerships. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Massachusetts Adult Education requirements while providing excellent service to prospective and current students.

This part-time position is scheduled for 28 hours per week over a 33-week academic year at an hourly rate of $30.00. The regular work schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct intake interviews and determine student eligibility.
  • Administer BEST Plus 3.0 and TABE CLAS-E assessments.
  • Coordinate student testing throughout the academic year and during program-wide testing weeks.
  • Monitor compliance with DESE Adult Education assessment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate enrollment, assessment, and student records.
  • Design and maintain efficient systems for enrollment and assessment data.
  • Generate monthly enrollment, assessment, and compliance reports.
  • Participate in student recruitment and outreach activities.
  • Represent the program at community events, resource fairs, and presentations.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and referral agencies.
  • Work collaboratively with instructors, counselors, volunteers, and program leadership to support student recruitment, retention, and success.
  • Work is performed in an office and classroom setting.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience teaching adult ESOL or Adult Basic Education.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain BEST Plus 3.0 and TABE CLAS-E certification.
  • Strong organizational, communication, technology, and data management skills.
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse adult learners.
  • Massachusetts Adult Education, LACES, outreach, recruitment, and bilingual (English/Spanish) experience preferred.
