Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist in Admitting. The role verifies eligibility with health plan carriers and explains coverage details to patients, coordinating payments and estimates before services are rendered.

You will document all communications in the EMR, assist with authorization processes, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer requirements to ensure accurate patient accounts and timely financial reporting.

Qualificações

• Minimum two years’ experience in hospital admissions or billing preferred.
• Knowledge of authorization processes for all payers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High School Graduate or GED required.

Responsabilidades

• Contact health plan carriers to obtain eligibility information and verify it in the patient’s account.
• Assist patients in understanding insurance coverage and financial responsibilities.
• Coordinate payment for all scheduled services per payer specifications prior to services.
• Collect payments and discuss payment arrangements as appropriate.
• Provide patient education on insurance benefits in-person and by phone.
• Prepare reports on insurance verification activities for management.
• Document all communication and follow-up in the EMR.
• Stay current with payer changes in healthcare through ongoing education.
