Job summary

Select Surgical Center at Kennedy, part of United Surgical Partners International, seeks an Insurance Verifier to support scheduling and patient financial clearance. You will verify coverage, contact patients for required information, and pre-qualify third-party coverage prior to procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the materials team to determine implants and supplies and accurately calculating patient responsibility for the scheduled case.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Insurance Verification or equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Ability to set priorities and to work independently
• Ability to interact positively with coworkers and supervisors
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Knowledge of how to access benefits from various sources
• Ability to interpret benefits and convey to patient

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage based on information from physician offices at scheduling
• Contact patients to gather additional information and notify them of financial responsibility
• Pre-qualify third-party coverage for scheduled procedures
• Coordinate with materials management for implants/equipment needed to calculate patient responsibility
