Job summary

Georgetown Surgery Center is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist to ensure patients have valid coverage and authorizations for surgical services. You will verify insurance, communicate financial responsibilities, and support billing procedures in a team-driven setting.

The role requires healthcare insurance/billing experience, a high school diploma, and BLS where required by policy. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule, no calls, no weekends, and holidays off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience verifying insurance or billing in a healthcare setting.
• BLS certification as required by ASC policy.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits with multiple providers.
• Investigate discrepancies in insurance information on file.
• Ensure required authorizations are obtained prior to procedures.
• Communicate coverage details and financial responsibilities to patients.
• Collect any outstanding balances and inform revenue cycle of balances due.
• Document information for accurate claims processing and adhere to HIPAA.
