Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1–2 years of related hospital/medical office experience.
• Preferred: 3–5 years of related experience in pre-certifications/prior authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Initiates online verification or calls insurance carriers to verify patient benefits and precertification for outpatient services.
• Documents eligibility, benefits and precertification in Epic fields and communicates data gaps to management.
• Organizes daily worklists to prioritize tasks and maintain productivity.
• Secures all applicable accounts in a timely manner while meeting quality standards.
• Reports improvements, problems and changes related to insurance verification to department leadership.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
