Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Benefits Verification Specialist to join our Patient Access team. You will verify insurance benefits, determine eligibility, pre-certify services, and communicate clearly with physician offices and patients.

Duties include pre-registering cases in the EPIC ADT system, verifying coverage, obtaining authorizations within timely guidelines, and maintaining HIPAA privacy.

Qualifications

• 2 years of benefit verification/authorization experience or equivalent.
• 1 year of customer service experience
• 4 years of end user experience with Microsoft Outlook/Word and office equipment

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient work queue to determine accounts needing verification.
• Pre-registers patient cases by entering complete information in EPIC ADT prior to arrival.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for procedures and site of service.
• Coordinates with physicians' offices and ancillary departments for pre-certification and benefits.
