Santa Cruz Community Health is hiring an Insurance Verification Specialist to verify patient eligibility across all clinic sites and support pre-visit enrollment. You will work with Billing, Front Office, and Enrollment to minimize denials and ensure SFDP compliance.

Strong HIPAA knowledge, patient service skills, and experience with EHR and practice management systems are essential. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, bilingual Spanish/English differential, and competitive

Qualifikationen

• Desire to serve the community clinic population with excellent health care.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of healthcare terminology, procedures, and practice.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately enter, retrieve, and maintain patient information in practice management and EHR systems.
• Ability to work some evenings and some Saturdays.
• Excellent patient/customer service, communication and follow-through skills.

Aufgaben

• Verify eligibility and benefits for all patients using insurance portals and payer systems.
• Complete pre-visit verification to support clean claim submission and reduce denials.
• Identify uninsured or underinsured patients and refer to enrollment or assistance services.
• Communicate payment and insurance requirements to patients before visits.
• Document and maintain accurate insurance information in the EHR.
• Ensure required documentation is completed prior to or at the time of visit.
