Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare billing, prior authorization, or collections.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HIPAA.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Manage Prior Authorization & Insurance Verification.
• Verify patient insurance coverage for services and medications.
• Determine if prior authorization is required for scheduled services.
• Prepare and submit prior authorization requests with supporting documentation.
• Track status of authorizations; follow up with insurers on approvals/denials.
• Communicate authorization status and potential financial responsibility to patients.
• Pre-Collections & Patient Account Management: review overdue balances and contact patients.
• Discuss payment options and set up payment plans per clinic policy.
• Answer inquiries about billing statements and coverage.
• Initiate outbound calls for overdue accounts and payment arrangements.
• Maintain records of all prior authorization and collections activities.
