Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist to verify patient insurance eligibility, determine financial responsibility, and obtain pre-authorizations. You will work with clinical and scheduling teams to ensure accurate coverage information prior to visits.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of verification experience, proficiency with EMR and practice management software, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare experience preferred.
• 1–2 years in insurance verification in a medical practice.
• Experience with EMR and practice management software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for visits and procedures.
• Determine patient financial responsibility including deductibles and copays.
• Identify services requiring referrals or pre-certification.
• Review payer policies and coverage guidelines.
• Contact carriers via portals or phone for benefit information.
• Document verification details and authorization information accurately.
• Communicate requirements to front office and scheduling staff.
• Resolve discrepancies and registration issues before appointments.
• Collaborate with scheduling, billing, and clinical teams for timely resolution.
• Maintain knowledge of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and regulatory requirements.
