Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX seeks an Insurance Verification Rep to verify and pre-authorize insurance coverage and enter billing data into the system. This role supports Service Excellence and follows Service Excellence standards across customer groups.

The position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work with physicians, patients, and payers in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year job related experience recommended.
• Healthcare financial experience desirable.
• Typing skills.
• Computer experience desirable.
• Intense customer/people interaction experience preferred.
• Recommend moderate to intense concentration and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write and converse in English.

Responsibilities

• Accept assignments with teamwork and effective communications to support department operations.
• Participate in quality improvement processes for the Department and Institution.
• Verify insurance and release billing data by contacting appropriate payer.
• Assist with expediting admission processes.
• Cross-train to other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director.
