Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join the Operations team in Salem, VA (also in Farmington, CT or Denver, CO). You will provide basic technical services and administrative support for underwriters, handling mail, documents, reports, and policy notices in a timely manner.

The role offers a base salary of $50,000 with bonus potential and comprehensive benefits. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and up to 2 years of related experience in an insurance

Qualifications

• High School diploma required, with demonstrated experience.
• 0 - 2 years of business experience. Exposure to insurance is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Sort, route, and process all incoming and outgoing mail.
• Type and proofread documents; scan and attach into underwriting system.
• Order reports such as MVRs and ISO rate surveys as applicable.
• Process policy filings, cancellation notices, reinstatement notices, and other documents per time service standards.
• Handle conditional renewal notices in accordance with state requirements.
• Process incoming new business submissions and endorsements; refer to underwriting as needed.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
