Job summary

AXIS Capital in Princeton, NJ seeks an Underwriting Service Associate to support underwriting teams with clerical and policy processing. You will prepare policies, review files, input data, and manage endorsements within established guidelines.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, math skills, and proficiency in Excel and Word, with 2–3 years in commercial insurance; the role is hybrid with three in-office days per week and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid mathematical aptitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word).
• Good computer, organization, written and verbal communication skills.
• Good multi-tasking skills; ability to organize work and perform within time constraints.
• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare policies for policy issuance where applicable.
• Review policies for accuracy and regulatory standards.
• Review policy logs for accurate input.
• Input policy and underwriting data in appropriate systems.
• Process endorsements per request within established Company guidelines – where applicable.
• Work with identified resources to maintain a structured diary system. Work with identified resources to structure and maintain file organization.
• Coordinate file pulls and manage diary system to ensure that all necessary information is received within established timelines.
• Follow up on delinquent data.
• Submission management – where applicable.
