Russell Tobin is currently seeking a Presale Specialist 2 - Hartford, CT to support our client. Job title: Presale Specialist 2

Location: Hartford, CT

Duration: 8 months

Pay rate: $22/hr - $24.8/hour

Job Duties:

  1. Facilitates the entire RFP process from Intake process to the execution of rating the products per the request and creating a proposal all while serving as a subject matter expert.
  2. Partners with the RAE and Voluntary Sales team members to maintain an active and productive relationship.
  3. Understands how industry and location can affect The Hartford’s Benefit offerings.
  4. The Quote Specialist will review rating reports for accuracy and reasonability to better understand variances, articulating and consulting on any drivers from the data while following state specific or company identified requirements.
  5. Works closely with Underwriting to ensure risk identified provisions or requests are addressed.
  6. Ensures RAE’s pricing is within authority and communicates timely when outside of authority.
  7. Provides accurate and timely delivery of proposal, meets quality guidelines and turnaround times.
  8. Proactively shares feedback with leaders of the Quote Specialist team on other team members, process challenges, or other related team initiatives.
  9. Manages work queue, processes re-rates and escalates urgent issues to manager and proposes work solutions as necessary.

Qualifications:

  1. College degree preferred or equivalent experience with financial ratings.
  2. Knowledge of Group Ancillary products preferred but not required.
  3. Intermediate Excel experience (V-lookups, pivot tables).
  4. Customer focus with the drive to exceed expectations.
  5. Demonstrates integrity and respect consistently.
  6. Strong writing and communication skills.
  7. Can balance multiple priorities with a focus on timely deliverables.

Note:

Candidates for remote work must have a home office that allows for privacy and minimal distractions. The office should be able to close off from noise, and children under 12 should not be present without supervision from someone other than the candidate.

Candidates are required to be on camera for all meetings.

From August through October, time off is limited for all employees, including full-time and strategic reserves. If a candidate has a planned vacation or extended time off, they must discuss it with their leader and obtain approval 30 days in advance. This does not apply to appointments or short absences (up to 2 hours) where flex time can be used.

The office is closed on holidays that fall on a weekday and candidates that are hired will be off those days without pay.
