Job summary

Harmon Memorial is seeking an Account Resolution Insurance Collector to manage accounts and minimize accounts receivable. Qualifications

• Must be able to read & communicate effectively in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
• One to two years previous acceptable experience in Patient Financial Services, Accounts Receivable, Health Information Management or Business office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors accounts via system reminders and reports to ensure timely processing and reimbursement from payers.
• Responds to patient questions, inquiries and complaints and documents information on the account.
• Secures and witnesses required signatures per policy and regulation; documents activities on the account.
• Ensures account balances are paid within the hospital's collection policy and communicates with internal/external parties about payments.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance requirements to avoid losses or penalties and ensures proper application of receipts, adjustments, and refunds.
• Maintains working knowledge of Meditech B/AR and LSS modules and Change Healthcare to optimize processes.
• Prepares and implements electronic procedure manuals to improve efficiency.
• Provides backup support and training to Account Resolution Biller and other Revenue Cycle staff.
• Prepares daily/weekly/monthly reports for supervision and management review.
• Keeps supervisor and director informed of work activities, needs, and problems.
