Job summary

HomeServices Insurance, Inc. is seeking an Insurance Renewals Specialist to review client renewals, investigate premium increases, and flag coverage gaps or errors.

You will reprice policies, issue forms, and enter data into the agency management system while staying current with carrier guidelines. The role requires 2+ years in personal lines customer service, strong analytical and communication abilities, and excellence in time management and organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or the equivalent.
• 2+ years in personal lines customer service.
• Working knowledge of insurance agency operations, coverages, rates, markets, and applicable insurance laws/codes.
• Thorough knowledge of all personal lines insurance products.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven automation, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and compare client’s current policies with their renewal policies and investigate the reason for any major increases in premium.
• Advise clients regarding insurance coverages and risk management issues; identify gaps in coverage or outdated information.
• Requote clients’ policies as needed; send applications/cancellation forms; issue new policies; enter information into agency management system.
• Stay up to date on carriers’ policies, packages, coverages, discounts and underwriting guidelines.
• Report any circumstances that may lead to potential or actual HomeServices errors and omissions claims or related complaints to leadership.
• Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Job description

Responsible for reviewing client’s renewals, looking into premium increases, identifying any gaps in coverage or coverage errors or omissions, and remarketing accounts as needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

Common job activities are listed below; actual position responsibilities may vary. Refer to your manager or human resources for specific duties and performance expectations.

• Review and compare client’s current policies with their renewal policies and investigate the reason for any major increases in premium. (30-40%)
• Advise client’s regarding insurance coverages and risk management issues. Identify any additional insurance needs, gaps in coverage or possible incorrect/outdated information. (20‑30%)
• Requote client’s policies as needed or as requested. Send applications/cancelation forms, issue new policies and enter information into the agency management system as needed. (20-30%)
• Stay up to date on carriers’ policies, packages, coverages, discounts and underwriting guidelines. (5-10%)
• Report immediately any circumstances that may lead to potential or actual HomeServices errors and omissions claims and/or any Department of Insurance or related complaints to VP, Insurance Operations and CEO. (0-5%)
• Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)

Qualifications

Education:

• Minimum of high school diploma or the equivalent.

Experience:

• 2+ years in personal lines customer service.

Wage

$23.50 - $28.70 hourly; actual wage is based upon education and experience.
