Job summary

Richmond National is seeking a Product Compliance Specialist to join the Legal department on-site in Glen Allen, VA. You will design, draft, review, and produce policy forms, endorsements, and applications for commercial insurance products, ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment.

The role requires strong writing and analytical skills, experience with insurance regulatory frameworks across states, and collaboration with underwriting, claims, IT, and operations to implement policy changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or legal training; J.D. is a plus.
• 3+ years of commercial lines insurance experience or related drafting/regulatory work.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with state insurance regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with ISO Forms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with lifecycle tools (Mozart) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting, review, revision, and production of policy forms, endorsements, and applications for new and existing commercial insurance products.
• Translate underwriting objectives into precise, legally sound policy language.
• Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to inform product enhancements.
• Partner with internal legal and compliance to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
• Research state insurance statutes and regulations as they apply to product design.
• Collaborate with IT and operations to implement policy changes into systems and processes.
• Support underwriting and claims with coverage interpretations, training, and documentation.
