Job summary

Brown & Riding is seeking an organized insurance assistant to support the Associate Broker in servicing clients and managing binders, certificates, and renewals. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely file activity, and clear communication with carriers, retailers, and customers.

You'll handle policy checking, endorsements, suspenses, and renewal processing, while learning system skills and pursuing insurance designations to grow with the team.

• Advanced skill level in PC software (Word, Excel and other software, as required).
• Ability to be flexible in work schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

• Meet quality measurement goals by delivering high quality service in servicing assigned clients and accounts.
• Assist Associate Broker with submission process, as assigned.
• Prepare Quotes and Confirmation of Coverage (Binders) as directed.
• Policy Checking (Review policies to ensure issued per binding with carrier).
• Endorsements (Request policy changes, follow up, review for accuracy, invoice, transmit).
• Manage and maintain suspenses, including follow-up and escalation to broker or AB when needed.
• Ensure Surplus Line documents are submitted correctly and on time.
• Learn and increase system skills to improve efficiency.
• Attend educational seminars, as required.
• Produce and mail renewal letters with applications to customers when applicable.
• Review renewal/new business information and request needed information.
• Process certificates of insurance when applicable.
