Qualifications

• 1-4 years of experience covering insurance in investment banking, equity research or private equity.
• Strong independent modeling and valuation skills, with the ability to distinguish underwriting balance-sheet risk from fee-based services businesses.
• Clear investment judgment and the ability to identify the risks that matter most.
• Polished written work and presentations.
• Ownership, initiative and comfort working in a lean team.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to handle detailed execution.

Responsibilities

• Building financial models and valuation analyses independently
• Evaluating opportunities and developing the supporting investment thesis
• Conducting financial, commercial and business diligence
• Reviewing transaction documents and coordinating with external advisers
• Preparing investment committee memos and presentations
• Researching insurance markets, competitors and potential acquisition targets
