Job description

  1. Follow-up with insurance companies on billed claims regarding claim status and resolution of payments in a timely manner.
  2. Thoroughly review all notes in patient accounts for potential insurance benefit eligibility.
  3. Access client systems to determine insurance eligibility and filing status in order to prepare claims for billing.
  4. Request necessary documents from client to perform insurance billing.
  5. Responsible for accurately tracking payments and payment verifications.
  6. Contact patients when additional information is required to complete billing.
  7. Provide thorough, efficient, and accurate documentation and updates in all required systems for each work event.
  8. Dependent upon position, identify root cause of issues and concerns, determine resolution, and refer to Management.
  9. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations relating to job duties.
  10. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  11. Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of improvement.
  12. Make recommendations to implement improved processes.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate or equivalent relevant work experience desired.
  2. Previous insurance/medical billing/customer service experience preferred.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  4. Ability to work in a team fostered environment.
  5. Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multitasked environment.
  6. Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
  7. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  8. Ability to lift and/or move 20 pounds with or without accommodation.
