Job summary

Millennium Healthcare Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Insurance Benefits Coordinator to manage patient authorizations, verify insurance eligibility, and support billing in a home health setting. This in-person role requires coordinating with patients, payers, and clinical teams in Palm Springs.

Candidates should have at least one year of experience in insurance benefits coordination, strong communication, and proficiency with EMR and practice management systems; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an insurance benefits coordinator role; preferably in a home health setting.
• Clear and concise communication, both oral and written, with ability to follow scripts and prepare summary reports.
• Organize and maintain extensive records, research and compile information, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience using EMR software.
• Medical billing: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient care authorizations (initial, reauthorization, follow-up).
• Verify insurance eligibility; contact patients/departments with any negative outcomes.
• Assist billing with claims issues due to insurance authorization denials.
• Collaborate with clinical teams and referral sources regarding authorization needs.
• Maintain progress/tracking reports on outstanding authorization requests.
• Collect, review, and document demographic, insurance, and financial information with patients and payers.
• Follow guidelines regarding routine patient and payer interactions.
• Negotiate payment reimbursement from patient and third-party payers.
• Other duties as assigned
